Check your Audio Input Settings

To Check your audio input settings on a Chromebook

click time at the bottom right corner of the screen to open Quick Settings

Then click the arrow next to the audio settings to access the audio settings

Within the audio settings you can see and adjust the input volume and select the desired input/output  device.
